Custom Snowmobiles
Custom Snowmobiles are Great in the North. If you think you have the badest snowmobile then you are in the right place. Custom snowmobiles are our game and snowmobile was is what we do.
Custom Snowmobiles
Northerners know the joy of custom snowmobiles. Snowmobiling is an all-consuming winter sport in states from Michigan to Maine. As soon as the snowfall hits six inches (on well-beaten trails) and about a foot or more for virgin terrain, people are out enjoying speed and thrills; the feeling is often likened to skiing on fresh powder.
The snowmobiling season will vary from area to area, but the trails tend to be open from December to April, and in some areas even into May. Like ATVs, snowmobiles come with a number of different features, as well as various sizes and horse powers, and are able to carry one, two, and even three people. Some snowmobiles can achieve speeds well in excess of 100 miles per hour!
Custom Snowmobiles with Attitude! Big Bad Boy Toys is a resource for anyone interested in buying, selling, or browsing these sleek adventure vehicles. There is an entire community of snowmobilers out there, and interstate trail systems exist in Maine and other states, allowing snowmobilers to get almost anywhere. What many people love about snowmobiling is the solitude of the "trail," and the opportunity to get out into untouched, virgin terrain.
This is an ideal winter outlet for people who love their speedboats in the summer months and their muscle cars in Spring and Fall. Snow is an ideal medium for fun and speed, although caution must be taken to mitigate the effects of high speeds on unknown terrain. It's time to explore all of the fun that the world of custom vehicles has to offer, and Big Bad Boy Toys is here to help!

Kagayama Keeps Ride
Kagayama Keeps Suzuki Ride; Is Testing In Oz Kagayama keeps Suzuki RIde for 2009
Thanks to WSBK Planet,
This just in from Alstare. Fonsi Nieto is not testing and his future with the team seems in doubt. Kagayama, though, he keeps his ride. Irony.
TEAM SUZUKI ALSTARE START 2009 EARLY
Team Suzuki Alstare have begun their preparations for the 2009 season with a three day test in Phillip Island Australia. Over three days, held in mostly good conditions, riders Yukio Kagayama and Max Neukirchner started to work with the all-new 2009 GSX-R1000 Suzuki at the demanding Australian circuit and understand the new bike. At the end of the three days, Yukio and Max had completed over 420 laps and had given a lot of valuable feedback to the team. Yukio managed to lap faster than his time earlier this year and Max was also on the pace.
Before the test, a team of Alstare's mechanics had spent the best part of two weeks in Japan building the bikes, before they were shipped to Phillip Island for the three day test. The bikes will now be sent to Kyalami circuit, South Africa, for the first official test for the 2009 season on 10-12 December.

Corona or Erion?
Hodgson On An Erion or Corona SuperBike in '09?
Hodgson will ride a Honda, but which one?
Honda's Friday announcement that they are pulling their factory team from the 2009 DMG/AMA Superbike series didn't come as a huge surprise. The current economic meltdown and its effects on the Honda automobile market continues to trickle bad news down to nearly every sector of Honda's worldwide market.
Honda's pull-out release notwithstanding, those Hodgson fans wondering where they can go in 2009 to see their favorite English triple digit rider won't have to go to World Superbike or British Superbike. There's every chance that Neil Hodgson will be on either an Erion Honda or Corona Honda Superbike (or 600) in 2009.
Hodgson is in the middle of a two-year contract, which by Soup math means that there's at least one year left on said contract. It's highly doubtful that Honda is going to pay him to sit on his couch and drink warm beer for a year, especially since they still have both of their satellite teams, Corona and Erion, under contract for at least another year as well.
Hodgson's contract might have to be modified to enable him to ride at Corona or Erion, and the contract of whichever team gets Hodgson might have to be modified in order for them to provide a spot for Hodgson but there seems to be every chance that Hodgson will be riding a Honda in the 2009 series. Presumably, Erion or Corona will use the current Honda CBR1000RR Superbikes--those last seen lapping quickest at the Daytona test.

Honda Pulls out from AMA
Honda Withdraws From AMA Superbike
American Honda withdraws from AMA road racing in the US
Torrance CA: American Honda announced today that it will withdraw Team Honda from participation in the 2009 AMA Roadracing Series. This was an extremely difficult decision to make as the racing spirit reaches to the very core of Honda.
The primary factor contributing to this decision is the current global economic situation and its impact on Honda. Although Team Honda will not be in attendance, Honda will continue to be represented in AMA Roadracing through our ongoing support of both the Erion Honda Racing and Corona Honda Racing teams.

It used to be that custom bikes and choppers were few and far between. We'd see them on the freeway or back roads, and wonder where to even begin creating a bike like that. Now, however, with renewed interest in truly unique motorcycles, there is a burgeoning need for a good trading resource for buyers and sellers of these exciting vehicles.
With shows like American chopper, people are beginning to understand that owning a truly unique vehicle can be a reality. If you are unsure where to look for custom bikes, start on a website, www.bigbadboytoys.com . We offer a forum for buying and selling custom bikes and choppers, boats, off-road vehicles, even heavy equipment. New 2009 R1 Is the BOMB
The New R1 is all that and then some!
Yamaha has released their new R1 to the public and it is being met with open arms.
The credicts have hailed this bike to be everything the R1 world has asked for and then some. It's new GP trickled down tech has pushed the new R1 to the top of everyone's wish list. MSN reportely pitted it against last years "Bike of the Year" and it beat it down, hands down.
The really good news: We have one :).
You might not yet know what a cross-plane crankshaft is, but you will. It’s a link to Valentino Rossi’s MotoGP bike, and it’s the biggest advancement in literbike engine design in years.
This new crankshaft arrangement is part of Yamaha’s latest YZF-R1, a literbike we tested last week at the Eastern Creek circuit in Australia, and it’s a design not seen in any previous production motorcycle.
The 998cc engine’s distinct sound is the obvious clue that it’s something special - it’s akin to a V-Four with a deep, purposeful note that seems a little bit angry. But it’s in the way the motor generates power that sets it apart from its competition. Gone is the peaky powerband of the previous motor, and in its place is the most tractable four-cylinder literbike yet built.
Yamaha’s 2009 R1 is ready to do battle against any of its literbike rivals.
|
The newly enhanced midrange is welcome, but more than that is the feel of a direct connection between the throttle and rear tire. In most literbikes, a rider is acutely aware of the possibility of being high-sided to the moon if the throttle is applied injudiciously. With the R1, even a moderately skilled rider can safely drift the rear tire on corner exits.
| What’s a Cross-plane Crankshaft? |
|
The cross-plane crankshaft has its pistons arranged 90 degrees apart from each other.

Spies Ready To Rumble
Flying Elbows: Spies Set To Begin His WSBK Tour of Duty
American Ben Spies leaves for a season of world championship racing next week. He'll be testing at Phillip Island and then hanging out off-shore until the World Superbike opener in Australia on March 1. Spies probably won't be back on US soil until a few weeks before the Miller Motorsports Park round on May 31.
While he's going to be hitting some fantastic, classic race tracks in the coming months, Spies is actually counting the days until the series reaches Utah for the Miller Motorsports Park round on May 31.
"It'll probably be my only race on US soil in 2009," Spies said of the Miller World Superbike races, "so I really want to do well at Miller, "I'm going to try and win it. The Miller track has been good to me in the past, I think I've only been beaten there once since the place opened, when (Jake) Zemke won it. I intend to keep that going."
Spies hopes that American fans will visit the Miller Motorsports Park race and see the WSBK series and their American entrant. "American fans should come to this race. It's World Superbike and as they say, a little different for a world championship. Open, fun, friendly. I know a lot of my friends are planning to the come to the race and a lot of people from Yamaha are flying in. I hope the fans can make it happen. I'm going to try my hardest not to let them down."
Well-aware that the US and much of the world are in a recession and money is tight, Spies sees value in attending the Utah WSBK round. "We all just have to get through this and curling up in a ball isn't going to help. I think fans will be surprised in 2009 as to how hard the tracks and the promoters are going to go to make sure they have a really good time while at the track."

Suzuki,,,, It's ON
This just in from Suzuki:
American Suzuki Announces its Support for Road Racing in 2009
BREA, Calif. (Jan. 26, 2009) - American Suzuki Motor Corporation announced today that the Rockstar Makita Suzuki Racing team will compete in the AMA Pro Racing Superbike series for 2009. After extensive discussions with AMA Pro Racing, American Suzuki has received clarification of the AMA rules that will see the Suzuki GSX-R1000 sportbike on the racing grid beginning with the opening round in Daytona, Fla., in March.
Road racing is an important activity for Suzuki at the professional and amateur levels. The manufacturer uses it as much for testing and development as for sales and marketing. Its championship winning heritage and class-leading sales prove that this competitive activity is beneficial for Suzuki as well.
Mat Mladin, six-time AMA Superbike Champion, will race his No. 7 Suzuki GSX-R1000 in the premier AMA Pro American Superbike class for Team Rockstar Makita Suzuki. Tommy Hayden will race his No. 22 Rockstar Makita Suzuki GSX-R1000 in the same class. Dirt Devil
Staying clean in the Dirt
2003 Dodge Ram 2500 - Dirt Devil

Built To Dominate The Terrain On Any Continent
Would you believe the gleaming Viper Red paint was a $700 job applied at a local auto body shop?
We all want our trucks to suit our every need. For most of us that means a machine we can drive every day, use to tow any trailer, punish unsuspecting sports cars with, and keep around for hundreds of thousands of miles. But that's just if you're a normal Diesel Power reader.
Kent Kroeker's Viper Red '03 Dodge Ram 2500 began life a lot like most diesel trucks do, but it's ended up the beast you see before you. Kent bought the Dodge new in Oregon so he could get the high-output 305hp Cummins common-rail engine when it debuted. He used the truck as his daily driver for years just like most of us would do, the only thing was--Kent's daily driving routine is radically different than most of ours.
The four LED off-road lights paired with a set of Feugo HIDs from Baja Designs ensures the competition will see the truck coming day or night.
As owner of KORE Off-Road Engineering, he's one of the guys who pioneered using -ton diesel pickups as off-road race vehicles. In fact, Kent's Dodge was the first Cummins-powered vehicle to ever complete the famous Baja 1000 off-road race. Along the way, he and his team have developed the hardware needed to keep 8,000-pound diesel trucks alive at race speeds, in the middle of nowhere, and on roads that are more like obstacle courses and mine fields than the boulevards and avenues most of us drive on.
Over the past two years, Kent has converted this race truck for duty in the Dakar Rally, where it would go head-to-head with six-wheel-drive diesel trucks from Europe's biggest teams. That's not to say this once-black Dodge has given up its days on the street--far from it. The red Ram still cruises comfortably down the highway and even tows a fellow race truck from time to time. Keep an eye out for it at the next Best In the Desert off-road race, down in Baja, or whatever continent you may find yourself on. DP
Under the hood sits a 470hp and 800lb-ft dyno-tuned 5.9L common-rail engine that was built at Gale Banks Engineering. The engine internals were modified for endurance racing, the cylinder head was extensively ported, and the intake manifold was machined off and replaced with a Big Hoss intake for maximum airflow.
|

The truck's landing gear comes in the form of 3-inch-diameter Fox coilover shocks that are paired with position-sensitive 4.3-inch-diameter Fox bypass shocks and hydraulic bumpstops.
|
In order to support the weight of the Cummins when the truck gets airborne, the AAM 9-inch front axle was fitted with 4.10 gears and reinforced with a TIG-welded chromoly axle truss. The Ram also benefits from a Lee ram-assist power steering system and a sector-shaft support brace.

1923 T-Bucket "Mean and Clean"
Fukken Clean T-Bucket
1923 Ford T-Bucket - Ray's Ride
Ray Liffrig's '23 T
If you didn't know it already, T-bucket owners are some of the hardiest people on the face of the earth. Sure, sometimes they're ridiculed for the type of car they drive but, as many of them will tell you, at least they drive their hot rods!
At events like the National T-Bucket Alliance Nationals (this year to be held in June in Lenoir, North Carolina) you'll find hundreds of Bucketheads who will gather for a few days of devotion to the Model T Ford. But, unlike some participants who only take their rides out one day a year to a local car show, here you'll see many folks who have driven hundreds of miles in their little hot rod just to get to the event. Ray and Pat Liffrig know this fact intimately, as they drive to and display their copper-n-flamed roadster at many events, too.
As a kid Ray had always liked T-buckets and, 40 years and several cars later, he was finally able to slide behind the wheel of his own T roadster. Living above the 44th parallel north in Lake City, Minnesota (not amongst the warmest climates for T ownership), Ray found the T 100 miles away at a business--Hooked on Classics--that deals in old hot rods and restored vehicles. One of the great things Ray believes about owning a T is it allows the owner to express himself as an individual, as no two T-buckets ever seem to look the same!
Ray's dream began with him going through his recent purchase from the ground up. The chassis is from Total Performance and set up on a 96-inch wheelbase. Out back a Ford 8-inch rear (3.50:1) was used along with a Panhard bar and QA1 coilover shocks (rated at 150 pounds), while the front uses a chrome straight axle and friction shocks from Total. With drum brakes mounted in the rear, the fronts are 11-inch GM discs. Monocoque aluminum wheels, 15x4 and 15x14, are wrapped in big 31x18.00-15LT Mickey Thompsons out back, little 165R-15 Kelly rubber in the front. Steering is aided by a Corvair box and a chrome 24-inch ididit steering column.
Performance is the name of the game with most T-buckets, but Ray also wanted reliability, too. A Chevy 350 engine, bored .030 over by Jeremy Swanson in Bellchester, Minnesota, and then assembled using a stock crank and rods, was also upgraded with valvetrain components that include a Comp Cams camshaft and roller rockers.
Under all the chrome and polished aluminum is an '85 350 Chevy that's connected to a TH350 transmission. Jamey Swanson did the machine work (boring the block .030) and assembly on the V-8 using Speed Pro pistons and a stock crankshaft and rods. Edelbrock RPM polished aluminum heads are fed by a single Holley Street Avenger carb, which is bolted to an Edelbrock Performer manifold. Sprint Roadster headers from Speedway Motors help extract the exhaust out and down the side of the car.
Up top a single Holley Street Avenger 670 carburetor feeds the mix into a polished aluminum Edelbrock Performer manifold and a pair of aluminum Edelbrock RPM heads. A Tuff Stuff water pump, 17-inch Flex-A-Lite fan, and an AFCO aluminum radiator help keep the V-8 cool while a Tuff Stuff 60-amp alternator and stock ignition with Moroso 8mm wires take care of the electronics. The motor gets its supply of go-juice from a 10-gallon tank mounted in the bed, and spent gases are extracted through a set of Sprint Roadster headers from Speedway Motors that exit alongside the body. The drivetrain was completed with the addition of a TH350 transmission equipped with a B&M torque converter and a Lokar 23-inch shifter.
About the only modification done to the `glass body was the removal of the Total logo on the shortened "tailgate." Rick Rodewald, from Red Wing, Minnesota, did the required body and prep work before spraying the PPG paint (specifically a candy orange glow pearl with Harlequin magenta gold flames). After the gray-tint windshield from Lake City Glass Shop was added and the '40s-era Chevy taillights added, about the only thing left was to get the interior done.
Ray used a piece of cherrywood as a dash, then filled it with Stewart Warner gauges (plus an Auto Meter tach) wired up with a Painless Wiring kit. A mahogany Grant steering wheel complements the dash, and the satin black Spradling material (a vinyl-covered automotive fabric) installed by Dennis Hatleli of Hatleli Upholstery in Lake City looks great stretched over the custom bench seat.
Ray and Pat finished up the interior when they equipped the T with a Sony stereo/CD head unit coupled to four 12-inch Sony speakers. The Liffrigs like to drive their bucket whenever they can but, like when the couple hit a deer with their ride one memorable trip, that's the chance you take when you drive your hot rod. You never know what's around the corner, and that's just the way Ray and Pat Liffrig like it!

A cherry wood dash is filled with Stewart Warner gauges (plus an Auto Meter tach) and the ididit steering column supports a Grant mahogany steering wheel. The 23-inch-tall shifter (topped with an 8 ball) came from Lokar while the black and charcoal Spradling (a vinyl-coated fabric) material on the custom bench seat was covered by Dennis Hatleli (Lake City, MN).

1 super clean Cadi...
1985 Oldsmobile Cutlass - Hypnotiq
A Style Of Its Own
Cadi Anyone?
When Art Arroyo from Riverside, California, thought about naming his '85 Oldsmobile Cutlass, he knew the name had to be something smooth to go along with the vision he had for his fantasy ride. He tossed around many ideas, but it wasn't until he saw the texture and color of the interior in the Cutlass that he decided to name it after the smooth, frosted blue drink. "I love the color of Hypnotiq," Art says. "When I saw the finished product of the interior, to me the style along with the candy paint had a way of its own. I felt that the name would be perfect for my car because that drink definitely has a style of its own."

Fukken Wax Racing in Miami 6/27/2010
Fukken Racing kicks butt at Homestead-Miami Speedway
With the bikes tuned in and the weather working with us, we were able to place 3rd and 4th this weekend in Miami. The Fukken race Bikes were running like champs and shining like rock stars.
We got to the track at 8am Saturday morning. Out team was already there and setting up our pits. Once we picked up our tech papers and teched the bikes we went straight to tunning the bikes. The day was beautiful and track was in great shape. It started out a little green, but with a few sessions in it was ready to help put our bikes to their paces.
The first couple of practice sessions went well. We were well into our normal race pace with plenty of room for improvement. With the new parts and adjustments made to the bikes over the past month, we felt we had a great chance to put Fukken Wax Racing back on the podium. The other racers were all looking fast with a couple cherry picking AMA stars trying to swoop in for the low hanging fruit. With the cherry pickers having at least 25rwhp on us we knew we had our work cut out for the weekend. We opted to place some new rubber on the back of one of the race bikes to give us that extra confidence to make up for missing hp. This turned into causing us a set back and some practice time. The rear axle stripped out on us during the tire swap. We went on a mad hunt for a spare shaft. After an hour or so of looking, asking, and testing, none could be found at the track. We had to put on our "McGuiver" hat and pull something out of our %$# to make it work. With a drill, some safteywire and a pin from our reese hitch we were able to secure the rear axle enough to race. This took a few sessions to get confidence in, but once we were sure it would hold we put our "Big Girl Panties" on and took our grid position.
The races Sunday were heated. Some great exchanges were made. We were able to hold off a last lap challenge to hold on our 3rd place finish in the first race. The pace helped us beat our personal best time ever. The second race was fast, but so was our competitors. We managed to keep a top 5 finish against the fastest guys in the SE. It was a great weekend and something to definitely build on for our next race. We made some great improvements in Set Up. We are looking forward to applying what we found in our next race.
Stay Tuned for more,
Team Fukken..
As always, Fukken Racing was the best looking winners at the track.

Yamaha "All In"
Yamaha: Deal Us In
Rumors surfaced earlier today that Yamaha may now be considering pulling out of the US Superbike series for 2009, but a call to Cypress nipped that rumor in the bud.
"We're going racing," Yamaha US Communications Manager Bob Starr said late today. "The bikes are almost complete and the guys will be working on finishing them throughout the Thanksgiving holiday. Then the truck will leave for Daytona."
"I walked through the race shop and watched them button up one of the new American Superbike-spec R1s in all black bodywork and it just looked bitchin', Starr said."The new R1 is going to sound awesome on the banking at Daytona."

Fukken Waxing it at JenningsGP 4/5/2009
Waxing the Comp at Jennings GP 2009
It was a beautiful day at Jennings. The weather had us set for some great racing and we were loaded up and ready to go.
We were able to get a load of Fukken shirts and had a few beautiful women hang out in the pits to keep us company. The bikes were shining and running like champs. All we needed to do was ride. We were feilding 3 bikes and need to get some seat time to make it a great weekend. The 2009 R1 was broke in and we needed some time in it's saddle to get her up to speed.
Saturday was practice all day and we took advantage of it 100%. First we shook down the 04 and 06 models. They were running like scolded dogs and felt like they were riding on rails. After a few sessions on the old bike it was time to get up to speed on the new one.
It took about 3 sessions before I felt up to speed. i was only able to get there down in the 1:25 range. That put us about 4 seconds off a podium finish. But time was running out. We tried to make a few adjustments, but ran out of time due to qualifying We were forced to let it ride and shake it down on the morning practice.
Come Race day i was feeling a vertigo issues. Not sure what it was, but I was dizzy as hell. This cut out my practice and pushed me right into feeling it out during the race. The other Fukken rider was good to go and running strong. However we were still off pace due to some tire issues.
We were able to make a strong a showing and represent the Fukken brand well. We may not have brought home the gold but the we did manage to give out about 25 shirts and have a great time all weekend.
Stay tuned for the Pics. they should be up tomorrow.

P.B.I.R Memorial Day
P.B.I.R. Memorial Day.
After having a few weeks off the Fukken race team is headed back to P.B.I.R. on Memorial Day for some holiday fun in the sun.
The new track is quickly becoming our favorite stop on the circuit to race, With a new track surface which has awsome grip, A very wide track area which provides plenty of oppertunity for some great side by side racing , And a back straight away that is over 1/2 mile long allowing the speeds up around 180 MPH. Whats not to love!
The Fukken team spent most of this last weekend going thru the bikes , Preparing them for the upcoming weekend. The Fukken #41 bike has made several changes to the setup of the bike after going thru the notes taken from the last race. Alot was learned and alot has been changed so we are looking for a great run out of the new bike.
The Fukken #441 bike went through a complete overhaul, It almost seems like we changed everything on the bike except the rider.
While on the outside it looks pretty much the same , Under the plastics is almost a completely new bike.
I am very excited about trying out the bike with the new overhaul. Hoping that with not to much tweaking the new changes will prove to be well worth the time invested , And helping us to shave some more time off our lap times.

As always the bikes are looking sharp and ready for action.

Fukken Wax Racing Previews Homestead Race
Fukken Wax Racing Previews Homestead
Homestead Miami Speedway is a NASCAR track owned by Daytona Motorsports Group. It is the home of many races and is a world class track. The garages are 1st class and the road course configuration makes for some great battles.
The track has some great braking sections, killer sweepers coming off the banking, and tight technical sections in the infield. NASCAR runs the complete oval (2.0 miles) but the motorcycles run the outer straights and the complete infield (2.6 miles). Our Superbikes are capable of reaching approximately 165mph in the short straights. Gearing is very important at Homestead due to the stop and go sections of the infield. Breaking into the left hair pin has a racer going from 5th to 1st. There about 12 to 14 up shifts per lap. There is not too may places to relax on this track and with the Miami heat in the middle of summer it is very demanding. Fluids and hydration is a must throughout the race weekend.

The Fukken race bikes will be shining bright with the help of the best wax on the planet. It’s not a pitch when we say this wax helps us on the time sheets. Wind drag is not a myth and Fukken Wax helps us cut through the air with ease. Not to mention the fact it cleans the rubber of the front and keeps our visors spotless. It truly is the Fastest Wax on the planet. It has been up to 200mph at Daytona and regularly sees 175mph every race weekend.
We will be tuning in our R1’s all day Saturday and putting them to the test on Sunday. Come see us wax the competition. We will be pitted in garage #8. Just look for the best looking bikes there. We will be handing out T-shirts and Fukken Wax discount cards in our pits. See you there!

Fukken Racing 6/27-28 Weekend Update
Fukken Racing Weekend Update Pics
HomeStead Races in June are Hot and Wet, but not in a good way.
We had a rough weekend. One of our racers went down in the opening practice session and we were behind the eight ball from them on. Saturday the sun was blazing, but with repairs going on our track time was limited.

Evertime we turned around we Kevin was working on one of the Fukken bikes.

We still had one bike dressed out for the fans.

The race day was all wet and turned into a crash-fest. We still were able to nab a 6th and 8th in the rain, so all was not lost. The crowd was impressive still, and we handed out a good number of T-shirts. In the riders meeting everyone was told to Speed Safe, lol. like it's possible to race safe in the rain on a bike, lol.

AMA rules on Buels and Others
Buell 1125R & Other Massive Twins Legal In Daytona Sport Bike & Supersport WSBK Planet
The DMG/AMA released the latest version of their rules package for American Superbike, Daytona Sport Bike and Supersport last Thursday night, in turn confirming that the make up for the Daytona Sport Bike and Supersport classes may be the oddest looking "middleweight" grid in history. 1100cc liquid-cooled, four-valve V-Twins will legally race against the top 600s in both the Daytona Sport Bike and Supersport classes.
The newly released rules list as homologated machinery for both classes: Aprilia RSV, BMW HP2 Sport, Buell 1125R, Ducati 848, Honda CBR600RR, Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R, KTM Super Duke, Suzuki GSX-R600, Triumph Daytona 675, Yamaha YZF-R6.
Interestingly, Ducati is limited to 848cc while Buell and other twins are 1100cc or better.
It's been rumored for months that both former XBRR rider Jeremy McWilliams and Australian Garry McCoy will race Buells in '09 DMG/AMA action.
Dyno numbers are apples and oranges in the best of circumstances. That said, the following numbers come from PR sources and an independent dyno facility:
'08 Buell 1125R: 146 horsepower, 82 foot pounds of torque
'08 Honda CBR600RR: 105 horsepower, 46 foot pounds of torque
Even if the dyno numbers for the Buell were taken at the crankshaft and the Honda's from the rear wheel, there would still seem to be a rather wide difference between the two in terms of power.
The BMW HP2 Sport (1170cc) is rated at 130 horsepower, 85 foot pounds of torque.
DMG will be striving to make the Sport Bike and Supersport grids as equitable as possible. How this parity is accomplished with 130-140 horsepower motorcycles racing against 600s making dramatically less power may be interesting, to say the least, to watch.

Fukken Racing at PBIR 5/2/2009 the Weekend
Fukken Hot at West.
What a great Fukken weekend. The trip down took longer than expected and we were put behind the forever cruel 8 ball right off the bat.
Now keep in mind this was another brand new track that neither of us had seen before this weekend. We were going down blind and needed every bit of practice we could get. But that was easier said than done.
Right off the bat we forgot our tickets to get in. We had to sweet talk the gate guy into letting us get in to set up and practice. This was not easy as the gate keeper was the race promoter's brother. He finally gave in to our begging and so were off to try and find a pit.
The pit part we scored BIG on. After racing for so long you kind to get to know a bunch of racers. D-Wire (one of th efastest guys there) had a great pit, and said we could pit in front of him. This turned out to be agreat spot for traffic and pit out. I mean just look how out in the middle of everything our pit was:

A few hotties were walking by and stopped to ask about Fukken Wax. We grabbed this op for a quick photo shoot and treated them to a couple Fukken shirts.
As the weekend went by the girls were parading around the "Fast On" Fast Off" shirts. I am just not sure if this shot was aimed at the shirt or not. You decide :).

The practice sessions were filled with good times and drama. As you can see below the bikes had a great Fukken shine, the competitors were putting their knees down, the crash truck was cleaning up the mess, and the night races were not to bright. We passed on racing in the dark because it was our first time there. We did not want the pleasure of riding in the crash truck.

Stand By for the Race Report and Shots from the weekend.

SPIES to Yamaha WSBK in 09
Ben Spies Rides 2009 Yamaha R1 Superbike
The last time Ben Spies rode a Yamaha it was an R6 a 600 in an endurance race at Indianapolis Raceway Park in 1996. Since then he's been a full-time Suzuki man, winning the Superbike title three times. Time now for a new chapter though: Spies signed with Yamaha and made his maiden voyage on an R1 today at Autodromo International Algarve in Portugal.
"I think it's going to be good," Spies said after his two short riding stints. Wearing black and white leathers, he put in a few laps on Haga's ex-R1 Superbike, then came in and the team rolled out a very black and very new 2009 Yamaha Superbike. With its distinctive exhaust note--sounding slightly like an RC45--Spies did a lap and then returned to the garage to have some changes made to it. Soon after that the checkered flag flew, ending the day of press testing.
Spies will have a full day to test tomorrow when he takes to the track on a day which will see him ride the Yamaha, and Max Biaggi ride the Aprilia as well.

Fukken it up at Daytona international Speedway
Fukken it up at Daytona International Speedway
Here we go,
Fukken Racing kicked off the year at Daytona in true style, but had a few snags over the weekend.
We set up pit and display on Thursday and everything was perfect. We were able to get a great pit and the weather was simply beautiful. The Fukken display was showing off the latest Fukken can, and the bikes were shining loud and proud.
Once we had everything set, it came time to run the bike through tech. So far every thing was flawless. We closed up the pit and went to the Hotel.
Next Came Friday,
We had to be at the track early for practice, and we needed to get the heat on the tires. Once we had our warmers on, we walked around and spread the Fukken word. The track was pretty packed and more racers were coming in by the trailer full. It looked to be a packed weekend. Once our Practice session rolled around we suited up and headed out on the track. That’s where the fun ended. The Fukken bike felt like it was on rails and was dialed in, but once I got it up on the banking the motor started to break up over 10,000 rpms. I thought it may have been some stale gas. I tried to put in a few laps to see if it would clear up. It was having trouble winding out under load. Once I got it back in the pits I started to investigate. We took it apart and could not find anything wrong. We unhooked the PC and tightened everything down, but it still would not run over 10k. At Daytona you need all the power you can get. So here is where the work started.
We took off and picked up the 09 from the shop. We had everything overnighted and shipped Saturday delivery to the track. We were set to race prep a brand new 09 R1 the next morning. We could not keep a trailer at the hotel, nor could we get back into the track once we picked up the new bike. The 09 had to stay in the room with us. We had to sneak it by the front desk, and up the elevator, then into the room. Now we just need to get some sleep for Saturday’s work.
Saturday’s work;
We decided to give the Fukken Race bike 1 more chance to act right, but it still was not ready to battle Daytona’s banking. With this we decided to get to work on prepping the 09. It took us 6 hours to tear it down and rebuild it completely to race ready. We were slap worn out by the end of the day, but it was completed (so we thought).
Sunday, Race day;
Race day was here and we’re all set on a new bike. The weather had a nasty storm rolling in and it was for sure going to ruin the weekend. We were able to get our practice in before it started to rain, but we still had bike issues. The exhaust burned the hydraulic adjuster line in the new rear shock’s preload adjuster. This made for a few more hours of work before the Race. We finished it about 40 minutes before the 1st call for our race. This gave us just enough time to heat up the tires. The rain was gone and track was dry. It’s race time. With only a handful of laps on a brand new bike, the race was not as pretty as we wanted it to be, but we did get the most attention. The new R1 was the only 09 R1 there and prepped. With a Fukken sticker glowing on the side, everyone knew who the fast wax was. We turned in a great race. With 2 Fukken bikes in the field we finished strong with a 6th and 7th place. Considering the weekend events leading up to the race, we were stoked.
Summery,
We grabbed a bunch of attention. We raced a new bike. We had a great finish. And we all came home in 1 piece after flying at 190mph around the high banks of Daytona.
Until next time: (check back for pics soon)
Speed Safe.

Fukken Racing at Homestead
Making a Fukken showing at Homestead.
Fukken Racing closing out at Homestead
The weather was beautiful and the bikes were running like champs.
The trip down took a little longer than expected and we missed the first few rounds of practice. This put us behind for a little, but we were able to get up to speed pretty fast. We had our trusty Fukken Radar Gun on the main straight and the changes we made to the bikes were showing in our top speeds. After a few adjustmens we were able to hang with the lead guys and ready to put on some new tires and go racing.

The morning practice was wet and did not help out much. We were unable to test our last settings and decided to just race with what we had. All of the big player were at the track for this race. Mainly due to it being the only race in the SE. Every garage was full and the grids were packed. Some races needed to do a 3 wave start due to the number of racers in attendence.

Our races were not pretty. A few bad starts and some blown apexes made for some long races playing catch up. We were still able to nab a podium and some top 5 finishes. The good news is were took the bikes home the same way we brought them in one piece.

Assen TT Results And Highlights 2009
Highlights of WSBK Assen TT 2009!
|
Sunday, 26 April 2009 19:24
|

|
Ben Spies (Yamaha World Superbike) and Noriyuki Haga (Ducati Xerox) continued their two-way domination of the 2009 Hannspree FIM Superbike World Championship at the Assen TT Circuit in the Netherlands by taking a win apiece in front of 76,000 spectators.
The Texan pulled out a fantastic pass on his Japanese rival to take a last-gasp win in the first race, but then crashed out of race 2 early on, leaving Haga the winner. Leon Haslam rode superbly to take home two podiums for the Stiggy Racing Honda team, while Jakub Smrz (Guandalini Ducati) scored his best-ever result with third in race 2. In the championship Haga now has a 60-point lead over Spies, 180 to 120.
Race 1
Spies took his fourth win of the season by forcing his way past points leader Haga in a thrilling final lap. The decisive move came a couple of turns from the flag, and the Texan then closed the door on his rival to win. Third place went to Haslam, who had the satisfaction of recording a new lap record. Yamaha's good all-round performance was completed with fourth place for Tom Sykes, the British rider finishing ahead of Max Biaggi (Aprilia), well up again after struggling in qualifying. Sixth place went to Smrz, while Michel Fabrizio could only manage eighth with the second factory Ducati. Troy Corser put in a good performance on the BMW, while Max Neukirchner (Suzuki Alstare) could only finish 13th after crashing out from second place and then rejoining. Carlos Checa (Hannspree Ten Kate Honda) also crashed out while trying to catch up after a poor start.
Ben Spies: "I was trying to set a really good pace in the first few laps, but just didn't have the same feeling I had in practice with the bike, and Nori came by and I saw nobody was behind Haslam, so I just sat back and watched. When the tyres started going off we made some moves, there were some close moments with Leon but we kept it clean. I knew I had to go and I fought it out with Nori over the last two laps. Actually I didn't know where to pass Nori, but I got a good run and it was close."
Noriyuki Haga: "I am a little bit disappointed but we did a very good race. I got a good start but just at the beginning of the race Ben was quite faster and I tried to catch up with him. It was difficult because I had a little problem with the bike. I caught up again and passed him and tried to push but couldn't. So at this point I just lost a few points for the championship."
Leon Haslam: "I felt really good to be fair, the race pace was good and I was just sitting behind Nori. I was losing a lot of time out of the hairpin and onto the start-finish straight and was trying to match Nori through there and the next minute me and Spies had a good elbow session but it was a fantastic race and again a big thanks to the team to give me a package to do that."
Results: 1. Spies B. (USA) Yamaha YZF R1 36'31.338 (164,628 kph); 2. Haga N. (JPN) Ducati 1098R 0.154; 3. Haslam L. (GBR) Honda CBR1000RR 0.779; 4. Sykes T. (GBR) Yamaha YZF R1 8.775; 5. Biaggi M. (ITA) Aprilia RSV4 Factory 11.275; 6. Smrz J. (CZE) Ducati 1098R 16.126; 7. Rea J. (GBR) Honda CBR1000RR 19.555; 8. Laconi R. (FRA) Ducati 1098R 19.760; 9. Fabrizio M. (ITA) Ducati 1098R 23.006; 10. Corser T. (AUS) BMW S1000 RR 24.285; 11. Byrne S. (GBR) Ducati 1098R 26.003; 12. Muggeridge K. (AUS) Suzuki GSX-R 1000 K9 27.814; 13. Neukirchner M. (GER) Suzuki GSX-R 1000 K9 36.962; 14. Xaus R. (ESP) BMW S1000 RR 39.025; 15. Kiyonari R. (JPN) Honda CBR1000RR 41.505; 16. Roberts B. (AUS) Ducati 1098R 41.810
Race 2
The outcome was decided on lap 2 when Spies slid off into the gravel while in the lead. This left Haga with an unchallenged run to the flag as he leveled the score with Spies with his fourth win of the year, together with a new fastest lap. Haslam improved on his result in the first encounter with a second place in race 2, the British rider now proving to be a true podium contender. Smrz scored his first-ever career podium in third, the Czech rider getting the better of Fabrizio in the final stages. The Italian had a broken gearbox in the end but managed to bring his 1098 home fourth. In the all-British battle for fifth, Jonathan Rea (Hannspree Ten Kate Honda) got the edge over Sykes. Suzuki's disappointing weekend was completed with a ninth place for Neukirchner and 12th for Yukio Kagayama. Corser scored another tenth place for BMW, just ahead of team-mate Ruben Xaus. Biaggi's race came to an end at the start with a clutch problem, while Shinya Nakano failed to take the start after his crash in race 1 in which he damaged his previously operated-on shoulder.
Noriyuki Haga: "First of all, I'm sorry for Ben and his crash, I hope he is fine. After the first race we changed the suspension a little bit and the bike was really comfortable, so a big thanks to everyone in the team. I think it's nine years since I won here, in 2000, so I'm very happy and now I'm looking forward to Monza."
